What you need
- An Instagram Professional account (Business or Creator).
- A free ManyChat account (manychat.com). Other tools work the same way.
- One thing to send: a free PDF, a link or a discount code.
Setup in 7 steps
- Sign up at manychat.com and connect your Instagram account.
- Create a new automation with the trigger "User comments on your post or reel".
- Choose a specific reel (or all posts) and set your keyword (e.g. PROMPT). Allow small variations.
- Turn on the public comment reply ("Check your DMs 📩") so others see it works.
- Write the DM: thank them, one line about the gift, a button with your link.
- Add a follow-up a day later that offers your paid product or next step.
- Test it from a second account before you post the reel.
Copy these messages
- Public reply: "Sent! Check your DMs 📩"
- DM: "Hey [first name]! Here's the [gift] you asked for 👇 [button: Get it]. Want more like this? I post one AI shortcut every day."
- Follow-up (next day): "Did the [gift] help? If you want the full kit with [benefit], it's here: [link]. Reply STOP to unsubscribe."
Rules that keep you safe
- Only message people who commented or messaged you first.
- Keep one keyword per reel, and make it short and easy to spell.
- Check your tool's free-plan limits and Instagram's messaging rules, which can change.
